Run Sony’s PlayStation Mobile on any rooted Android device..

The new PlayStation Mobile was finally launched in October, bringing Sony’s treasure trove of games to certified Android devices. Aside from the obvious, the mobile gaming platform should theoretically run on several HTC and Sharp phones as well.

If you don’t see your device on the list of compatible handsets, there’s a way to get in on the PS gaming fun. You just have to follow the instructions shared by noted XDA member NOMIOMI.

Future Google to provide search results even before you search for them

Delivering the right information even before you ask for it seems to be Google’s next big venture. According to MIT’s Technology Review editor Tom Simonite, Google is working to improve its mobile search by conducting studies that will enable the search giant to provide information you have never thought of searching for online. Tom Simonite revealed some questions he wouldn’t have gone to Google to answer such as how long the line is at the nearest grocery store or questions that appear during offline activities such as reading a book, cooking a meal etc.

Microsoft aiming for closer integration between Windows and Windows Phone with Windows Blue

Even though Windows 8 has only just been released, it seems that speculation over the next version of Windows is already in full swing. If you thought that the next versions of Windows would be Windows 9, Windows 9 RT and Windows Phone 9 then it looks like you are wrong. According to various sources close to Microsoft, the Redmond company is changing the way it will package up and sell Windows. The sudden departure of Steven Sinofsky, the head of Microsoft’s Windows division, now doesn’t seem so coincidental.

Surface RT production cut in half as Microsoft announces ridiculously high priced Surface Pro

Sometimes I don’t know if to laugh or cry. Microsoft has been responsible in so many ways for shaping the way we work and play, but at the moment it really is struggling to find its feet. The Redmond company has released its ridiculously high pricing for the Intel based Surface tablet with Windows 8 Pro, while at the same time rumors are surfacing (sorry, no pun intended) that Microsoft has ordered a cut in the production of its ARM based Surface RT tablets.

The Surface tablet with Windows 8 Pro will cost $899 for the 64GB version and $999 for the 128GB model. Other than the odd gold plated or diamond studded tablets that have been made especially for the insanely rich, these are the most expensive tablet on the market. Well done Microsoft, great way to launch a new product, make it the most expensive – ever.

LG Optimus G2 may have quad-core CPU, full-HD display, Android 5.0

LG unveiled the Optimus G barely a couple of months back, and the rumour mill is already going into overdrive over its purported successor, the LG Optimus G2.

GSM Arena quotes reports in the Korean media to say that the LG Optimus G2 will feature a quad-core 2.0/2.5GHz Krait processor, at least 2GB of RAM, full-HD display and camera that features a sensor that's 13-megapixel or higher. The device will reportedly run on on Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, which is expected to be out by the time Optimus G2 makes its way to the market in Q3 2013.

Apple's iPad Mini Review

Apple's iPad Mini will bring a lot more excitement and a little more confusion to the holiday shopping season.
It only takes a few minutes playing with the iPad mini to realize the scaled-down tablet computer will be a sure-fire hit with longtime Apple disciples and potential converts who've been looking for a more affordable entree into the mobile computing market.
With a 7.9-inch screen, the iPad mini is perfectly sized to be stuffed in Christmas stockings. Recipients who will discover the pleasure and convenience of being able to take pictures, surf the Web, watch video, read books and listen to music on an exquisitely designed device that's pancake thin. As enticing as that all sounds, the iPad mini also causes a dilemma, albeit a pleasant one.

Intel developing chipsets to allow laptops to wirelessly charge mobile devices

Wireless charging technology is quickly gaining attention from many mobile device manufacturers, and with good reason. Eliminating the need for a charging cable would offer a huge convenience across the board, and some of the products on the market like LG’s WPD-800 and the Powermat have already drawn quite a bit of attention. Now Intel has stepped up to announce plans for a new technology that will not only allow one mobile device to be charged by another with a built-in charger (such as a laptop), but also won't require the two devices even be touching to do so. Along with Integrated Device Technology, Inc. (IDT), Intel hopes to develop a chipset by early 2013 that will charge a smartphone through a laptop that sits a short distance away.

Google announces Nexus 4 smartphone, Nexus 10 tablet, and Android 4.2

Google had some big announcements today, and it couldn't even be stopped by a Super Storm. Though Hurricane Sandy forced the search giant to cancel its planned New York event, the company plowed ahead and revealed three new devices and a major software update.

In the third major mobile tech reveal in the last week (following big events by Apple and Microsoft), Google announced the Nexus 4 smartphone, the Nexus 10 full-sized tablet, and a minor update to the budget Nexus 7. All three devices will ship with Android 4.2, which carries on the Jellybean name.

KOLOS: the world's first iPad racing wheel

The KOLOS attaches to an iPad and turns it into a steering wheel for racing games, complete with a detachable base that attaches to most surfaces.

The iPad has carved out quite a reputation as a solid platform for video games, particularly racing games, thanks to its built-in accelerometers. But while using the whole tablet as a steering wheel is handy, holding a thin rectangle made of plastic and glass just doesn't have the same feel as an actual arcade wheel. Soon though, iPad owners will be able to pick up a steering wheel that fits an iPad in the center and attaches to most surfaces. Once an iPad is placed inside, the KOLOS becomes a racing wheel and game console in one.

Nexus 4 vs. Galaxy S3

Dimensions

Both phones sport slick designs. The Galaxy S III has a slightly larger surface area, but is also thinner. The Nexus 4 has a glass front and back, sandwiched together with a plastic band.
The Nexus 4's back is even bedazzled, and – under the right light – will emit a subtle glitter. Fear not, though, masculine geeks: we're talking more Nexus One live wallpaper, and less My Little Pony.

Belkin releases Portable Keyboard Case for iPad mini

Electronics and computer peripherals company Belkin has released a new portable keyboard case for the iPad mini which promises to bring both a level of protection, and a physical keyboard to Apple's diminutive tablet.

The keyboard connects to the iPad mini via Bluetooth, and an on-board rechargeable battery is said to be good for 155 hours of active use. The keyboard itself folds flat when not in use for easier transport, and there are also iPad-centric shortcut keys for easier media control, in addition to a camera cutout.

CRM's Eeny, Meeny, Miny Mobile Problem

"Most mobile developers are being forced to think in terms of what new devices will be on the market and how their applications will work on these devices," said Joseph Burger, founder and CTO of Labor Sync. "At the most basic, they are building elastic, flexible UIs because of the range of devices available today."

In the beginning, there was Apple's iPad. For a long time, "tablet" meant the iPad and nothing but the iPad. Then competitors began to make an appearance in the tablet market. For CRM vendors, that state of affairs made developing mobile products and strategies much easier.

Now, there are several tablets of varying sizes competing in the market -- new iterations that CRM vendors will have to take into account as they plan for future mobile projects.

Android Rules the Smartphone World

Its low cost and flexibility make the Android mobile platform so popular around the world. "The Android system will continue to grow because it's the closest thing we have to an effective open source platform," said Tirias Research principal analyst Jim McGregor. "Android is being used in many other applications just to leverage the mobile ecosystem.

Android dominates the worldwide smartphone market, running on 75 percent of all smartphones shipped throughout the globe in the third quarter, IDC reported.

Samsung continued to hold sway over the Android market, but its market share slipped because of competition from a multitude of smaller vendors.

Apple's iOS came in a poor second, shipping on 26.9 million smartphones in Q3 2012. That gave iOS a 14.9 percent market share for the quarter.

Samsung's Galaxy Note II Is a Phabulous Phablet

The stylus is perhaps the main distinguishing factor from other high-end smartphones.  The S Pen is more refined in generation two of the Galaxy Note family.  The credit for that goes to the new sensor technology built into the screen and software improvements. You do not have to actually use the S Pen, but the enhancements it brings add to the experience.

The Note II has so many things to like, but if you have a phobia for really big form factors, beware. Its 5.5-inch super sharp Amoled HD display wrapped within a 6-inch-by-3 1/4 inch frame is a handful!

I passed up buying both the first generation Galaxy Note and the Samsung Galaxy S3 in the hopes that soon to follow would be the next bigger and better thing. That strategy bore really tasty fruit. The Note II leaves little to desire in both features and computing power.

I have not been able to keep my hands off this marvelous gadget. I have hardly touched my Asus Android 10.1-inch tablet since upgrading my two-year-old HTC phone for the Note II. This newest release is pricey -- US$699, or $299 with a two-year contract -- but it is very much worth the expense.
